  • In a nutshell

Join Thor in October 2027 for our Dolomites photography workshop. We will guide you to some of Europe’s most beautiful landscapes and impressive mountains in the Italian Alps.

The Dolomites provides a host of amazing photographic opportunities. Stunning lakes, graphic mountains, traditional churches and more.

The mountains of the Dolomites have very distinctive features and are considered to be a region of such natural importance, that they form a part of a designated UNESCO world heritage site.

This workshop is for people that love big views. These mountains are just so impressive at every turn. Shooting in the Dolomites is more than photography. The whole area is simply so strikingly beautiful it becomes an experience.

  • Getting to Dolomites

You want to fly into Marco Polo Venice ( VCE )

The workshop starts and conludes at the airport.

  • Physical Requirements:

EASY/MODERATE: We consider it ‘easy’ to be able to walk up to 15 minutes on uneven ground. Most locations are within a few minutes walk of the car. There are 2 walks of 30 minutes with gentle elevation. One is on a paved road and the other a mountain path. The landscape is not paved and you need to be able to walk on uneven ground and manage your gear.

  • Day by day plan

Our Dolomites photo tour 2026starts from Venice international airport.

You will meet at Venice Marco Polo Airport Arrival Hall (between 11am – 1pm – exact times TBC). You will then be transported to our hotel base in Passo San Pellegrino. We don’t like to waste any time so we will get out for a sunset shoot immediately.

We will spend nights 2 and 3  in the Ortisei region of the Dolomites. We will spend nights 4 and 5 in the Selva Di Cadore region of the Dolomites. The tour will finish with a sunrise shoot after which we will be transported to Venice in the afternoon. Exact time TBC.

We will visit different locations each day always starting with a sunrise shoot (the sun is up around 8). After our sunrise shoot, we will return to the hotel for breakfast. There will be a break for breakfast and a short relax if you need one. We will then head out again for an afternoon and sunset shoot. Lunch will be informal and eaten amongst the beautiful scenery. Dinner (a set hotel menu) will be served at our hotel at approximately 7.30 – 8 pm.

There will be a webinar to help you edit your images post-workshop. You send your pictures to your instructor and a section will be edited live. The webinar will be recorded and sent back to you so you will have a route map to help you make the most of your images after the workshop. We will also offer discounted rates on our online photography courses plus we have a range of free courses you can access so you’re ready to go before you even arrive.

The weather in Iceland can be extreamly changable and often we need to work around that.
Despite being a drone photography focused workshop I highly recommend bringing your camera gear as there will be oportunities for that as well.
We will however mainly be focused on taking to the air and capturing the stunning landscape from a birds eye veiw.
