Besides beginning and ending in Reykjavík, we must keep our intinerary flexible since we will base exact location choices on weather and best conditions for photographing each time. The same applies for shooting the Aurora.
(Note: Each night we will monitor conditions for the aurora borealis. If the conditions are good we will of course head out to photograpph the infamous northern ligths!)

Arrival day - 5 October:

Upon arriving, we suggest using the FlyBus service from Keflavik Airport to the host hotel. Taxis are also available near the terminal building.
The FlyBus service is located right outside the terminal building and the cost is around $23USD each way. Book online using the FlyBus Plus service which will drop you off at your hotel. You can book a round trip to take you back to the airport after the tour.
Book FlyBus online:
1. Visit
2. Choose the FlyBus+ service which will ask for your hotel information.
3. Pay online.
We will meet in the lobby of our host hotel at 6:30 PM and go from there to a nearby restaurant for a meet and greet dinner where we get to know each other and have a chat about what we will be doing during the coming week.

Day 2:

We leave Reykjavík early and head east to our first locations. The exact locations depend on weather conditions, but on our route are the two waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, Dyrhólaey and Reynisfjara.
Overnight in Vík.

Day 3,4,5:

These three days will be spent in the Vatnajökull National Park, which is covering about 14% of Iceland and makes it the biggest national park in Europe. This area is packed with beautiful picturesque opportunities. Waterfalls, black sand desert, glacier tongues and not to mention the famous glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón, with it's floating giant icebergs and just below we have the spectacular diamond beach, where the ice that has been carried out from the lagoon gets washed up on the shore creating captivating scenery, this is a feast for your sensor.

Day 6:

We head west in the direction of Reykjavík. Probable locations along the way include Skaftafell, where there are numerous photo opportunities including Svínafellsjökull glacier, and Svartifoss waterfall with its impressive basalt columns.
Arrive in Vík to shoot the sunset and overnight there.

Day 7:

Shoot sunrise in Vík and after breakfast we will continue west, visiting Gullfoss waterfall, the Strokkur geysir (erupting every 10-15 minutes reaching up to 35 meters high) and Þingvellir for its famous gorge and even more waterfalls.
Overnight in Reykjavík, but before saying goodbye, we will have one last dinner as a group.

Departure day - 12 October:

Departures back to Keflavík airport - or stay for a while and explore, it is up to you! Again, we reccomend using the FlyBus+
We will go kayaking at the lagoon or a nearby lagoon on of the days we are staying in this area (weather dependent), giving us a splendid opportunity of shooting unique angles of the floating icebergs, not to mention the experience of being up close and personal with these giants.
One of these days we will travel further east to visit the jagged mountain Vestrahorn.
Overnight in a hotel near Jökulsárlón (Glacier lagoon).
